we call them: stolen delegates

Posted by crayz

We learn more of Hillary's plan to win:

And also remember that pledged delegates in most states are not pledged. You know, there is no requirement that anybody vote for anybody. They’re just like super-delegates.

Sounds fair to me. I think at this point it would be reasonable for a reporter to ask Hillary why she's wasted over $100 million trying to get American citizens to vote for her. Winning the race via popular support is for latte-sipping lefties

insulting your intelligence

Harold Ickes:

The popular vote is the popular vote for all to see... For people to claim that because the delegates weren’t seated you can’t count the popular vote seems somewhat goofy

You know, goofy! Just like that Disney cartoon character, or idea that we wouldn't "count" the already meaningless popular vote total of the totally fair Michigan primary that pitted Hillary against Dennis Kucinich and rising star "Uncommited." And if you didn't like that vote, don't worry - Hillary will go buy a new one!

Could this campaign be any more of a farce? Why yes, yes it could:

And Mrs. Clinton is looking for some development to shake confidence in Mr. Obama so that superdelegates, Democratic Party leaders and elected officials who are free to decide which candidate to support overturn his lead among the pledged delegates from primaries and caucuses....

“The superdelegates are not going to really decide until June,” Mr. Penn said. “He’s just going through a vetting and testing process that didn’t happen a year ago and is now happening. The whole vetting and testing process will make a big difference.”

"Looking for some development", you understand? Like, with a pair of binoculars, just waiting to see if one benignly comes along. It's not as if they're out there digging through dumpsters, throwing every rotten thing they find at the presumptive nominee in the hope that something sticks, totally unconcerned how much damage vicious Democrat-on-Democrat attacks will have on their entire party in November

Just another goofy, goofy idea

I said good day!

This race is officially over. MSNBC called Wisconsin for Obama; he's bound to get Hawaii as well. Obama's going to be ahead by well over 150 delegates, and barring a huge scandal there's no way Hillary can make up that gap - her own internal data has got to show the same thing. She would have to win every future race by about 14 points to regain the pledged delegate lead

McCain is already running the general election against Obama. Everyone else already realizes Obama is the presumptive nominee - it's time for Hillary to do the same and drop out

ok seriously wtf...

I am watching CNN as Hillary is going down in flames, and .... Bill Clinton is giving a speech like he's fuckin running? Let me quote:

This is an interesting race. And I was here a week ago after *we* won our great victory in Nevada, in St Louis.... We just finished in South Carolina today, Senator Obama won there and Hillary congratulated him, and I join that.... (boos) Now wait a minute, no. He won fair and square. We went there and asked the people to vote for us; they voted for him; we congratulate him. Now we go to February 5th, when millions of Americans finally get in the act

Let us begin with a clear statement: this country needs a change in direction. We need a change on the homefront, for the economy, for health care, and for education. We need a change around the world to restore America's standing as a leader for peace and freedom and cooperation. To do it, we need the right vision, the right plan, and the right leadership. I am here, and I have worked around this country because I think I know something about what it takes to put together a successful presidency, and because today in my current capacity post-politics I work with ordinary Americans and ordinary people all around the world. My library is in Arkansas, some of you have visited. We have a school of public service there. My office is in Harlem in New York City. We work trying to help the 23 million Americans who get a check every two weeks or every month but don't have a bank account to get into the banking system so they don't spend billions of dollars a year in alternative financial transactions when they can't pay the bills they've got. We work on trying to fight the problems of childhood obesity and the exploding rate of diabetes among our young people which threatens their future and the stability of our country in health care

Around the world, I've been to 90 countries, in 71 we sell the world's least expensive AIDS medicine, keeping over 750,00 people alive in Africa and Latin America and Asia. This is important work, but it brings me in touch with people. We're working on the problem of global warming in 40 cities on six continents. We're trying to help people make a living where they were never able to make a living before, all across the world.

finally goes into pro-Hillary spiel

ok and then wtf... after 30 seconds of how she "lead our efforts" in various good causes he leads in with "so I will give you her pitch, she says". And then switches back to speaking in the first person. This is an honest-to-god close call on a 22nd Amendment violation:

We have got to turn this country around, by setting some big goals. We have to restore the middle class today, and give poor people a chance to work their way into it. We have to reclaim the future for our young people instead of playing politics with it. We have to restore America's leadership in the world and we've gotta reform the government to make it possible to do that. That is her simple pledge to you

Vote for me, I'll restore our leadership, I'll rebuild the middle class, I'll reclaim the future and I'll reform the government to make it possible. Now, what does that mean? It means #1, we've gotta to do something about the growing, gnawing inequality in America. Inequality in incomes, inequality in health care, inequality in education. We are growing too unequal, and we have put the middle class dream in danger. In this decade, we're supposed to be in the 7th year of an economic recovery; we're supposed to be worried about a recession. But the truth is, most Americans are already in a recession. People all over this country are flat out of money. Why? Because in this decade, 90% of the economic benefits have gone to the top 10% of earners. About half of that to the top 1%. A big part of that to the top 1/10th of 1%. Median family incomes - the ones in the middle - are $1000 lower today after inflation than they were the day I left office. And we can do better than that. Why is that? Because our economy has only produced about 5 million jobs, as opposed to 22.7 million in the previous administration you might remember...

Bill Clinton is officially running for President
