The Washington Times is running a hit piece on Obama that confirms what I've believed about him for a while: he's a far left guy in disguise. And that's fucking great! Listen to the policies he advocated back in his Illinois Senate race, and which I'd be fairly certain he actually believes:
In terms of legalization of drugs, I think that the war on drugs has been an utter failure, and I think we need to rethink and decriminalize our marijuana laws.... If you're convicted of a crime, you should be punished, but that we are sending far too many first-time, non-violent drug users to prison for very long periods of time, and that we should rethink those laws
In a 2003 forum on health care, Mr. Obama said he supported the children of illegal immigrants receiving the same benefits as citizens, "whether it's medical, whether it's in-state tuition." Asked specifically if he included "undocumented" people, Mr. Obama replied, "Absolutely."
In a 2004 video, Mr. Obama told an audience at Southern Illinois University, "I think it's time for us to end the embargo with Cuba "It's time for us to acknowledge that that particular policy has failed."
He talked in depth about how the embargo hurts innocent citizens of Cuba and of how this sort of approach to foreign affairs is related to terrorism
The mandatory minimums take too much discretion away from judges,
Listen everyone, this is kind of a secret, but - Obama is a huge huge liberal. Get him elected and he has a good chance of paradigm-shifting the country to the left to the same extent that Reagan did to the right

I really enjoy reading your blog, it always has great insight. But I am very frustrated with the media’s lack of questions to the presidential candidates about global warming. Now that it is down to just a few candidates I would think that this would be a bigger issue.
Live Earth just picked up this topic and put out an article ( http://www.liveearth.org/news.php ) asking why the presidential candidates are not being solicited for their stance on the issue of the climate change. I just saw an article describing each candidate’s stance on global warming and climate change on earthlab.com http://www.earthlab.com/articles/PresidentialCandidates.aspx . So obviously they care about it. Is it the Medias fault for not asking the right questions or is it the candidates’ fault for not highlighting the right platforms? Does anyone know of other websites or articles that touch on this subject and candidates’ views? This is the biggest problem of the century and for generations to come…you would think the next president of the United States would be more vocal about it.
I’m sure that the global warming issue will come up when it’s McCain vs Somebody. But part of the issue could be that there’s not really any agreement that there is a man-made cause for it. Hollywood stars and former vice presidents have claimed that the evidence is non-disputable, yet hundreds of the worlds most prestigious climatologists and numerologists are in disagreement. I think it’s still in debate. Until we know the cause for sure, I think it would be foolish to implement disastrous economic policies such as carbon taxes, etc.
Meteorologists. Not numerologists. Mephisto has a bad spell-checker!
